Partnerships

Amethyst Trust courses are accredited by the Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT ) and approved by the Standards Authority in Cancer Care (SATCC) and aligns all training with the Standard set out by the SATCC.

Some of the partners that work with the Amethyst Trust:

Julie Speed and Debbie Moore - previously, Directors of the International & Holistic  Academy and Cedars Health & Beauty Centre are the founders and owners of Amethyst Trust training.

Julie and Debbie have been business partners for 30+ years and have extensive experience in the industry, both working in a salon environment and in a training capacity with FE and private colleges; they also are highly qualified cancer massage specialists. They have built up a large network of partnerships within this industry and enjoy spreading the positive message about massaging people living with and beyond cancer.

Julie was Director of Operations for BABTAC & CIBTAC from 2010 to 2013. Together they formed the original charity Cedars Amethyst Trust in 2010 working with the Cheltenham Oncology Department offering free beauty therapy treatments to people living with cancer at their award winning salon Cedars in Gloucester. In 2014 they changed the charity objectives and developed the Amethyst Trust Specialist Cancer Massage Training Course to enable all salons and spas to welcome people with experience of cancer; with the full support of Penny Brohn UK. Julie and Debbie also give credit to apt marketing and pr; Angie Petkovic and Kelly Ramsay who have worked tirelessly to bring their concept to reality.

In 2019 Julie and Debbie were invited by Sue Harmsworth MBE, to form the Standards Authroirty for Touch in Cancer Care with the aim of providing an industry standard for cancer massage training.

Amethyst Trust has gone from strength to strength during 2020 and developed online Amethyst Trust E-Courses to enable therapists from anywhere in the UK and world to have access to training and use The Federation of Hotistic Therapists (FHT) to accredit all courses ensuring currency and eligability for insurance cover for all therapists.

In 2022 the charity status was removed in order to focus on commercial training and Amethyst Trust is now a partnership and not a charity.

In 2023 they launched Reflexology for Cancer and Life Limiting Illnesses E-Course for graduates of Reflexology and in 2024 the launch of the Train The Trainer programme has enabled Amethyst training to be more accessible and available to all salons and spas who wish to manage in house training with the full support of Julie and debbie behind the scenes.
