Terms and Conditions

Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before booking training with The Amethyst Trust.

By submitting a Booking Form, confirming a training date, or making payment, you enter into a legally binding agreement and confirm acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.

These Terms apply to all training delivered directly by The Amethyst Trust or through approved training partners including Keheren Training.

Customers are advised to download or print a copy of these Terms for future reference.


1. BOOKING AND CONTRACT FORMATION

A booking is confirmed when:

  • A Booking Form has been submitted, or
  • Training dates have been agreed, or
  • Payment has been received

Once confirmed:

  • Scheduling, administration, trainer allocation, course preparation and e-learning enrolment will begin
  • Cancellation terms apply immediately

Failure to provide learner details or delays in communication do not cancel or postpone the booking.


2. PAYMENT TERMS

  • Payment is required at the time of booking unless otherwise agreed in writing
  • Training work cannot begin until payment is received
  • Fees are not subject to VAT
  • Course fees do not include travel, accommodation, venue hire, meals or refreshments unless explicitly stated
  • The Amethyst Trust reserves the right to cancel or postpone training where payment is not received

Pricing and Invoice Errors

Prices may change at any time without notice.

It is possible that, despite our best efforts, pricing errors may occur.
We reserve the right to:

  • Cancel a booking, or
  • Request payment of the correct amount, or
  • Refund any overpayment

We will contact you before issuing any additional invoice.


3. MINIMUM NUMBERS FOR ONSITE TRAINING

Onsite training is based on a minimum of 6 therapists per course.

If numbers fall below the minimum:

  • The minimum course fee remains payable
  • Refunds are subject to minimum numbers being maintained

4. CANCELLATIONS AND RESCHEDULING

All cancellations must be submitted in writing.

4.1 Organisation (Full Course) Cancellation

More than 30 days’ notice

  • Full refund minus any non-recoverable travel or ticket or venue costs already incurred.

If e-learning access has been issued:

  • Minimum 50% of the course fee is payable if face-to-face training is cancelled.

Less than 30 days’ notice

  • Full course fee payable.

Failure to provide learner details does not cancel the booking.


4.2 Individual Therapist Cancellations

More than 30 days’ notice

  • Full refund minus any non-recoverable travel or ticket or venue costs already incurred
  • Where the e-learning module has already been issued to therapists, a minimum of 50% of the total course value will be charged if the face-to-face training is cancelled

15–29 days notice

  • Individual therapist cancellations made 15–29 days in advance will receive a 75% refund. Where payment has not been made, a 25% charge will still be incurred
  • Where the e-learning module has already been issued to therapists, a minimum of 50% of the total course value will be charged if the face-to-face training is cancelled

14 days or less notice

  • Individual therapist cancellations made within 14 days of the training date will be charged at the full rate quoted

Refunds remain subject to minimum course numbers being maintained


4.3 Cooling-Off Period (Distance Bookings)

A 14-day cooling-off period applies to remote bookings provided:

  • E-learning has not been issued
  • Course preparation has not begun

If services begin within this period at the client’s request, cancellation charges may apply.


4.4 Rescheduling

Rescheduling is at the discretion of The Amethyst Trust.

If a discounted rate was applied, the difference to the full rate may be payable.

Extenuating circumstances (serious illness or bereavement) may be considered at Director discretion with supporting evidence.

Transport problems, illness, childcare issues or work commitments do not qualify for refunds.


4.5 Cancellation by The Amethyst Trust

Training may be postponed due to events outside reasonable control including but are not limited to:

  • Illness or injury of trainers
  • Severe weather
  • Venue issues
  • Government restrictions or public health emergencies
  • Travel disruption
  • Power failure or technical failure

In such circumstances:

  • The Amethyst Trust reserves the right to reschedule training to a later date
  • Liability shall be limited to the course fee paid
  • The Amethyst Trust shall not be responsible for any associated costs incurred by the organisation or participants, including travel, accommodation or loss of income

5. E-LEARNING ACCESS

Where included:

  • Individual email addresses must be provided promptly
  • Access is personal and non-transferable
  • Once issued, e-learning fees are non-refundable
  • Online course access is time limited
  • Materials should be downloaded before expiry

Coaching and Assessment Sessions for the Amethyst Specialist Cancer Massage E-Learning Course require 48 hours’ notice to reschedule or a fee of £75 may apply.


6. PREREQUISITE QUALIFICATIONS

Therapists must hold a recognised Level 3 Massage qualification (or equivalent e.g. VTCT, City and Guilds, ITEC,).
Reflexology or Facial qualifications may be required for some courses.

Online-only massage training course certificates are not accepted.

Certificates must be provided before training.

If incorrect qualifications are discovered after training:

  • Certification cannot be issued
  • No refund will be given.
  • Registration with the SATCC may not be approved.

7. ATTENDANCE, ASSESSMENT AND CERTIFICATION

Participants must:

  • Attend all sessions
  • Arrive punctually
  • Participate professionally

Certificates are issued only when competence is demonstrated.

Certificates may be withheld if:

  • Attendance is poor
  • Assessments are not passed
  • Further training is deemed required

Full and correct names must be provided for certification.
A £15 admin fee applies for reissued certificates due to incorrect names.


8. LOST CERTIFICATES AND RECORDS

Replacement certificates: £25
Replacement workbooks: £45

If training records cannot be located, replacement certificates cannot be issued.

Learners must contact their awarding body for lost prerequisite qualification certificates at their own cost.


9. PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Participants confirm they:

  • Are medically fit to participate in training
  • Have not been advised otherwise by a medical professional
  • Will notify The Amethyst Trust at least 14 days prior to training of allergies or medical conditions affecting participation
  • Will obtain appropriate professional insurance before practising techniques learned

The Amethyst Trust accepts no liability for treatments performed after training.

Participants/employers must ensure their insurer confirms cover for cancer massage where required.


10. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY AND CONFIDENTIALITY

All training materials remain the sole intellectual property of The Amethyst Trust.

Confidential information includes:

  • Treatment protocols
  • Technical data
  • Research and development
  • Training materials
  • Methods and business information

Materials must not be copied, recorded, shared, adapted or used to create similar training.

Breach may result in legal action.


11. SATCC REGISTER REQUIREMENT

Businesses must notify The Amethyst Trust if they no longer employ at least one Amethyst-trained therapist.

  • Level 3 Massage Qualification (or equivalent)

12. PROFESSIONAL CONDUCT AND VENUE RULES

We reserve the right to remove participants for:

  • Abusive behaviour
  • Unsafe practice
  • Unprofessional conduct

No refunds will be given.

Participants are responsible for personal belongings and any damage caused.

Participants may be required to act as treatment models during training.

Translators or interpreters if required, must be arranged and funded by the participant and declared at booking.


13. COURSE CHANGES

We may update course content, accreditation body, trainers, delivery methods or venues.

If significant changes occur and no suitable alternative date can be offered, a refund may be issued.


14. MARKETING COMMUNICATIONS

By booking, you agree to receive course-related and post-course support emails.
You may unsubscribe at any time.


15. CHANGES TO TERMS

We may update these Terms periodically.
Continued use of services constitutes acceptance of changes.


16. EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
